Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Who you’re contracting with
Barabara is operated by Burdtec Industries Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17069644), registered office 69 Toxteth Street, Manchester, England, M11 1EQ. Contact: legal@barabara.app. By creating an account you agree to these terms; if you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts. If you use Barabara for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.
What Barabara is (and isn’t)
Barabara is a marketplace that connects people who post jobs with people who do them. We are not a party to any agreement between users, we do not employ or supervise professionals, and we take no commission on work arranged through the platform. You are responsible for your own contracts, quotes, insurance, qualifications, right to work, and tax. We make no warranty about job quality, professional performance, or payment between users.
Verification badges
Verification badges (identity, business, insurance, qualifications) mean the relevant document or record was checked at a point in time. They are not an endorsement, guarantee, or ongoing warranty — always make your own checks before hiring or accepting work.
Invoices
Some plans include tools for creating and sharing invoices. Any invoice created with these tools is issued by the professional or their business — not by Barabara. We are not a party to the invoice, we do not process or hold payment for it, and we are not responsible for its accuracy, for the VAT treatment applied, or for whether it is paid. Issuers are responsible for their own tax and record-keeping, including charging the correct VAT and keeping copies of issued invoices; recipients should make their own checks before paying.
Your account
You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your login secure and tell us immediately about any unauthorised access.
Acceptable use
Do not: post fraudulent, misleading, or illegal jobs or profiles; misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or insurance; write fake or incentivised reviews; harass or discriminate against other users; circumvent verification; scrape the platform; or use it for anything unlawful. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (profiles, jobs, photos, reviews, messages). You grant us a licence to host, display, and distribute it as needed to run the service — including showing public profiles and job posts in search results. Only upload content you have the right to use.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown on the pricing page; UK VAT is applied at checkout.
- You can cancel any time in Settings → Billing (Stripe customer portal). Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep your plan features until the end of the paid period.
- If you switch plans, upgrades take effect immediately and the difference for the rest of the billing period is charged right away; downgrades apply a pro-rata credit to your next invoice.
- Cooling-off: if you subscribe as a consumer, you have a statutory 14-day cancellation right. By subscribing you ask us to start the service immediately; if you cancel within the 14 days, we refund the price minus a proportionate charge for the period you had the service. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email — changes apply from your next renewal, and you can cancel before they take effect.
Teams
Team and Enterprise plans include a set number of seats. The team admin controls who joins and represents that they have each member’s authority to add them. Removing a member ends their access to team features.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or that we reasonably believe put other users at risk. Where proportionate, we will warn you first. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for disputes between users or for work arranged through the platform, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £100 if you have paid nothing).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 14 days’ notice by email or in-app before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you are a consumer you keep any protections of the law where you live.
